Fort Lauderdale Strikers Inaugural Summer Soccer Camp
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers inaugural Summer Soccer Camp kicked off on July 26th and was a resounding success.
The Strikers camp hosted 76 campers over a two week period headed by Strikers head coach Daryl Shore and assistant coach Jim Rooney, along with Strikers players as assistant coaches.
The kids were elated to share the same playing surface as their favorite Strikers as they had the opportunity to watch the team train. The campers then went through an intense strength and conditioning regiment and received valuable coaching on technical and tactical skills each day.
The typically hot Florida Summer weather couldn't stop the campers as they displayed strong enthusiasm for the program and were constantly hydrated by PowerAde, the official hydrator of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
The campers were outfitted in authentic Joma Striker Jerseys and were in constant contact with the Strikers staff and professional players from day one, garnering several autographs and making new friends daily. It was a total family affair as several parents stayed on the premises at times to watch their kids in camp and got a chance to interact with the professional players.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers campers were allowed to attend either the Edmonton or Carolina home games where they played street soccer at the Strikers Tailgate Party and participated in the Strikers “Path to Victory Parade” which allowed them to walk onto the field with the team where they were recognized as Strikers Camp attendees.
