2013: The Fort Lauderdale Strikers announced Manny Gonzalez signed with the team on Jan. 31, 2013.
Amateur: Gonzalez has played for the Austin Aztecs of the United Soccer League (USL) in 2009 and Schultz Academy of the USL in 2011.
College: Gonzalez played from 2008-2010 for the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles in Fort Myers, Fla. As a freshman, he earned Atlantic Sun All-Academic honors, starting 17 games for the Eagles. Gonzalez finished his freshman season with three goals, two assists and 18 shots on goal. As a sophomore, Gonzalez scored two goals, one assist, 19 shots and 11 shots on goal in 10 games played.
High School: Gonzalez attended Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Fla. He was named to the All-Broward County team and competed in the Broward County Senior All-Star Game. In 2007, Gonzalez was invited to the Adidas ESP camp, which selects the nation’s top high school players for a week of training. He was named an Adidas ESP camp All-Star and started in the ESP All-Star game. He was also a member of the Region III and Florida state ODP team in both 2006 and 2007.
