So as you all know, Miami FC just hired a new head coach, Daryl Shore. The guys and I have anticipated meeting him and begin training so we can show off each of our skill set and compete for a spot on the field. We starting joking with each other that it is almost like tryouts again, everyone starts out from scratch with a clean slate.
As of now, we are two days into training and things have been going well. Trainings have been intense and hard and everyone is getting a lot of touches on the ball. With a couple days left before the team leaves to Tampa for a game on Sunday, I can only imagine the rest of the week will be as intense with everyone fighting for their spot. But that is the nature of the game.
The team and I are looking forward to working with the new coaching staff and try and make this year count and get into the playoffs. With hard work and a full team effort, we all think that is very possible!
All the best.
The team and I are back in Miami after traveling to Minnesota this past weekend for a game against the Stars. As I have had a day now to reflect back on the game, I thought our team showed a lot of heart and strong character to come back after being down a goal and get a point on the road. Both teams had chances to capitalize and take over the game but neither were able to do it. I was very happy with our teams effort, especially in the second half, to keep pushing for a win.
Although our team now is 0-0-5, we are still the one remaining team in the league that is undefeated. We are all well aware that 5 ties is not the most ideal start to the season, but we all feel like we are right there on the brink of turning these ties into wins. As a group, we have to keep on pushing to get better and continue to work hard. Do I think we can do it? Definitely!
The team is real positive about the future and feel like we have been playing some good soccer. This week we will continue to put the work in on the practice field and look to get our first win of the season against the Stars this coming weekend, at home this time.
All the best.
