Motagalvan joins the Strikers after spending the past two season with the USL???s Rochester Rhinos

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Feb. 3, 2012) – The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have announced the signing of midfielder Alfonso Motagalvan.

The 24-year-old California native spent the past two seasons with the Rochester Rhinos in USL Pro. He made appearances in 26 games for the Rhinos in 2011, scoring two goals and adding one assist.

“Alfonso is a great addition to the team,” said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. “He’s an exciting player with an excellent skill set.”

Motagalvan was a member of the Chivas USA Reserve squad in 2008 and 2009 before joining Rochester. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where he was named CIF Central Coast Player of the year as a senior and helped lead UC Santa Barbara to the 2006 NCAA Division I championship. 

Motagalvan grew up in Gilroy, Cal. where he was a two-time NSCAA/Adidas All-American at Gilroy High School.
