Justin Chavez and Darnell King selected to The NASL Team of the Week!
Solid defensive performances by both Darnell King and Justin Chavez earned them selection in the NASL Team of the Week for the first week of the 2014 Spring Season. Chavez was solid at midfield for the first half and then dropped to the back line in the second half when Rafael Alves had to come out due to injury.
King had a strong defensive match, helping to keep visiting team Ottawa out of the net. He then added a goal in the 80th minute, all but assuring the win for the home team.
The NASL Team of the Week is selected based on performances each weekend and features the best XI players in their respective positions.

Erick Norales, Indy Eleven – Honduran held RailHawks’ front line mostly in check during steady 90 minutes
Justin Chavez, Fort Lauderdale Strikers - Impenetrable as a defensive midfielder and then central defender against Fury FC
A.J. Corrado, Indy Eleven – Made his pro debut a week after signing and assisted on Indy’s first goal
Aaron Pitchkolan Minnesota United FC - Controlled the game in the midfield and had an assist for United
Mike Ambersley, Indy Eleven – Scored first goal in Indy Eleven history to give home side the lead
Zach Schilawski, Carolina RailHawks – Notched the equalizer for the RailHawks
Christian Ramirez, Minnesota United FC – Scored a volley inside the box that surprised the Scorpion’s keeper
