#NASLAccess: More than the Matches
By Jason S Rufner
You're probably like me, in a way. You love sports...you love soccer...and you really love knowing more than your friends.
I've found just the thing for us.
Log on to Twitter. Follow the NASL (@NASLOfficial) and search #NASLAccess. Feast on the tweets, pics, jibes and smack-talk therein. Get behind the scenes of your favorite team, plus the whole North American Soccer League.
You can see what superfans see, get the coach's scoop from the day's practice and know what the players had for dinner. You can feel like you're on the club even if you haven't worn cleats in years.
Seems to me like #NASLAccess really shows you how the soccer gets made.
Couple weeks back, Indy Eleven (@IndyEleven) gave us an office visit, showing the coaches practicing for practice (or maybe just watching kitten videos, can't really tell):
Also, I found out from the NASL.com article that introduced this article (click here) -- I can put #NASLAccess in my tweets too, to ask a question or make a request or show off just how in-the-know I am.
An outfit called First Team Podcast just #NASLAccess'd to say they've got a new Cosmos (@NYCosmos) video coming out.
Looks like supporter groups, soccerheads and all the NASL clubs are getting into the Access action too. Awesome. They're just giving us fans what we want: A genuine connection with our club, #beyondthescarf.
If you're a fan of the NASL, any NASL clubs or the entire Beautiful Game like me, it really seems like #NASLaccess is a nifty way to get behind the scenes of professional soccer. I know I haven't seen any feature like it from any other league.
Check out #NASLAccess. It won't make you an insider...but it will make you feel like one.
